Mosquito great source of discomfort not only for humans but also for animals They are harmful to us as well as animals, basically mosquito are sucked blood from the body, they keep different types of variables and diseases and they injected bacteria and viruses in our body. which causes many diseases to us. diseases like malaria, dengue, etc. most of the people used coil, insecticides, and other chemicals to be safe from a mosquito. some people also used antiseptic cream to be safe from mosquito bites. but using chemical another insecticide would cause an adverse effect on our health and surrounding. instead of using such chemicals, we can plant some mosquito repellent plants to get rid of mosquitos. this plan also increases the beauty of our garden and home.

#1. LEMON BALM 


In the leaves of Lemon Balm, there is a little bit of scent of lemon and mint. Leamon Balm has many healing properties, it is useful to get rid of mosquitoes, also it attracts important beneficial insects such as honey bee and butterflies. Some types of lemon balm contain up to 38 % citronella content. Lemon balm leaves contain high amounts of citronella. It is used in many commercial mosquito repellents. For a fast and quick mosquito repellent, all you have to do is to take some levels and crush it and rub it on your exposed skin.

#2. BASIL 


Basil is also known as an outstanding natural mosquito repellent. It gives a scent without the leaves having to be touched or crushed.according to the one study, it is found that Basil gives essential oils which gives protection us from mosquitos as much as 100 percent. it is also used to make green tea and black tea and some people are also used as a food flavor. Basils have many varieties of cinnamon basil, lemon basil, and Peru basil which are more useful because of their sharp properties. it is very easy to plant basil, we can plant basil in every corner of our home.


#3. LAVENDER


Most of us like and love the smell of lavender. It is known for its fabulous scent but only a few people know that It helps to promote a relaxing, calming sensation, but it can keep those tiny invaders from ruining your outdoor Dinner party. The sweet scent of lavender is very offensive for mosquitos. It also works its best to get rid of mosquitos. we can plant it anywhere in the room such as near the door, windows, balcony, and in entertainment areas. This plant is also used for decorating homes and rooms.


#4. NEEM


Neem plant is also known as an effective mosquito repellent. There are a lot of ointments and gels available in the market. To keep the mosquito away, you can grow neem trees around your home. You can also burn its leaves or use neem oil in kerosene lamps and citronella flares. To be safe from mosquito bites, you can also rub neem oil on the skin. It is also very useful for malaria prevention. some people drink their juice also because it is very good for health and some add this to their food item. It is an all-round beneficial plant.


#5. PEPPERMINT 


It can act as a natural insecticide to repel mosquitoes. Not only this, but the minty clean smell of mint is also much better than that horrible chemical smell. Mosquito larvae were killed 24 hours after exposure to a solution of peppermint oil and water. To keep mosquitoes away, crush some leaves on the plant to release odors and oils. Experts found that it offered repellent action when applied to body parts, showing larvicidal and mosquito repellent action.


#6. AGERATUM


The flowers of this plant are white and light blue, which produces virginity. Coumarin is used in the commercial mosquito repellent and perfume industry. Coumarin has a fierce smell that keeps mosquitoes away. Do not rub the agar on the skin as it contains some ingredients which are harmful to the skin. 


#7. CATNIP


It is an evergreen plant, which grows in sunlight or partial shade. You can apply crushed leaves or liquid on your skin as a repellent. It is considered one of the best natural insect repellents. It contains a natural chemical known as nepetalactone, which is a useful insect repellent. According to one study, it has been found that catnip is about 10 times more effective in exterminating mosquitoes than DEET.


#8. MARIGOLD

These plants grow from 6 inches to 3 feet. There are two types of marigold: African and French, both are mosquito repellent. As they grow in sunlight, their growth stops in the shade. Marigolds contain Pyrethrum, a compound used in many insect repellents. The situation is similar to the footpaths near the entrances to your home, as well as the common mosquito entry point to open windows to prevent insects from going past the barriers.


#9. CITRONELLA GRASS


Citronella grass also replicates dengue (Aedes) mosquitoes. It also has some anti-fungal properties. The plant carries the scent of citronella in its foliage, so simply crush the leaf and rub it on your skin, the aroma is very soothing, yet it naturally helps repel those mosquitoes.
It can be stored in large pots. This grass can grow up to 2 meters long and the plants love full sun and can tolerate summer stress. Citronella oil is used in herbal products such as candles, perfumes, lamps, etc.

#10. ROSEMARY



Rosemary likes full sun and needs to be protected during the winter. Both the living plant and its bite are effective at warding off mosquitoes and other pests. This flowering plant is an excellent mosquito repellent.  This is extremely useful during bonfire sessions. Just toss some rosemary cuttings in the fire and the smoke coming out of it not only gives a good smell but also keeps mosquitoes away.
